Hope Okon Design African Latest Fashion
According to Hope Okon Effiong, “Fashion is an art form that portrays the
aesthetics of a figure or a group of
people in a particular time and place
thereby projecting the culture of people
or the conceived ideas of a person.”
To her fashion is art which is the use of the imagination to express ideas or feelings.
Hope Okon Effiong is a native of Nung Ukim Ikot Etefia in Ikono Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. She is 27 years of age and a graduate of English and literary studies University of Calabar, Calabar.
Hope is a fashion designer and the C.E.O of Hopysmart Fashion Enterprises a.k.a. Hopysmart Designs; ‘a fashion brand that creates and recreates with passion to bring out the aesthetics and details of any given piece of fabric.’
The brand specializes in female adults and children wears. I am a typical melancholy by nature. According to Tim Lahaye in his book, Spirit Controlled Temperament, “No one gets more enjoyment from the fine art than the melancholy” (24). From a tender age, I already fell in love with everything art hence my choice of discipline and
passion for fashion. I didn’t get enrolled in any fashion outlet to be able to make
dress.
