To mark #africawomenday, Benin has unveiled a 30m statue to celebrates the warrior women of the ancient kingdom of Dahomey, the only documented female army in modern history.
By the mid-1800s, Dahomey had thousands of female troops. They began their training as young girls: swinging blades and loading muskets
